This sweet German bisque doll has a beautiful open mouth with lovely red lips showing 2 perfect teeth. Her rosy cheeks make her look like she is blushing. She has an adorable rounded nose with the sought-after pierced nostrils defining her as a "breather". Her dark blue glass sleep eyes have red dotted corners. All of the face paint is original.
This German, antique doll has a socket head on her original 5 piece fully jointed, toddler composition body. Her pink complexion is even toned, overall. She has a gorgeous, thick, light brown mohair wig that is full throughout with no hair loss. The hair can be managed to fluff it up which makes her look like like a little imp that has just come in from playing. She can pose on her own.
This Kopplesdorf doll wears all of her original clothing. She has on a satiny slip, a net lace dress with two rows of ruffles around the bottom. The sleeves are very puffy as is the dress. The dress ties at the back with a tiny mother of pearl button. There is a sweet matching hat that is also puffy and full. The outfit is yellowed with age. There is a hole at the top center of the hat and at the back. They can be fixed or just pulled in a certain way so as not to show. One of the ties is missing from the hat. I am not sure if the socks are original.
This German Doll is in OVERALL EXCELLENT CONDITION. She was not played with much. Her painted bisque head is gorgeous without any fades, cracks, or chips. Her composition body is in very good to Excellent Condition with all toes and fingers intact. There is an old hairline in the top back seam of her body where the doll was put together. This goes about 1/3 down her back. This does not show much and does not detract. Her eyelids (when her eyes are closed), show damage. The right eye has a crack in the eyelid and tiny chips at the edge of the lid. The left eye has tiny chips on the eyelid. The eyelashes were cut a bit, but most of the original lashes are there and still long. Her eyes close 3/4 when she is lying down. Her composition is original and amazing for an antique doll of her age. I showed her closed eyes in the last picture. There is no chipping, peeling or crazing at all.
