This beautiful Arts and Crafts necklace is by the famous British silversmith Charles Horner. Made of sterling silver, it is decorated with light lavender colored guilloche enamel and accented with hand-painted pink roses and green leaves. It also features a mother-of-pearl cabochon at the center. . The pendant measures 2-3/8"up and down (including bale) by 1" wide. The chain, which is a more recent replacement, is 18" long, with a spring-ring clasp. There are 2 loops on the chain so that it can be made smaller by clasping it on one of these loops. It is signed 925 and matches the chains on the pendant perfectly, even in color. The back of the pendant is fully hallmarked for Chester 1915, with the lion passant, Chester mark, and the cursive, upper-case letter P. It is also marked "C.H" for Charles Horner. D EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is a book piece and can be seen in Tom J. Lawson's book "Charles Horner of Halifax: A Celebration of his Life and Work" on page 32, as it appeared in a 1920 advertisement.
