This is an early brooch dating to the late 1800's. The focal point is an oval porcelain insert in a floral design with the German word ' Andenfen'. I believe this is the word for memory. This brooch could be a mourning piece. On each side is a small red paste stone. On the top and bottom of the porcelain piece is a row of crystal rhinestones. Each row has a center red stone. All are prong set. The closure is a fold over C clasp with a silver tone extended pin stem with a slight bow. This is a beautiful historic piece and is in very good condition. Size is 1 inch in width by 2 inches in length.
