This is an early dress clip dating to the 1930's. It has a lovely etruscan design with a gold tone finish. The center features a large red glass cabochon from which extends leaves. There are vines with yellow enamel flowers. There is an outer row of small blue flowers and a braided rim. At the base is a trio of leaves with red enamel centers. The clip is tight and secure.
Dress clips were a purely ornamental pin that first gained prominence in the 1920's worn often in pairs on the neckline or straps of dresses. The were no longer popular in the 1950's. They can now be used to decorate pockets, waistlines, hats, hair ornaments and even dresses.
