This is an early dress clip dating to the 1930's. It has a floral design with a cluster of blue flowers with a single pink flower and green enamel leaves. There are small crystal rhinestones at the top and center of the clip. The clip is tight and secure. The finish originally had a silver wash; however, much of the finish has worn off leaving a gold tone frame. Size is 1 inch in width by 1 3/4 inches in length.
Dress clips were purely ornamental. They were a type of pin first gained prominence in the 1920's worn often in pairs on the neckline or straps of dresses. They were no longer popular in the 1950's. They are now used to decorate pockets, at the waistline, on hats or has hair pieces.
