Dress and fur clips were first introduced in the 1920's. They were worn fastened to dresses, furs and other items of clothing often to accentuate an alluring detail such as a well-cut lapel or deep neckline. They were worn well in the 1950's and were used in a myriad of ways attached to collars, lapels and breast pockets of jackets or pockets of jeans. They can hold a scarf in place or add to ribbons to make elegant chokers and necklaces. They can be added to belts or used at belt buckles, added to clutches and purses, cloche and beret hats.
