This is an early cape fastener consisting of two round disks. The disks are concave with a bird motif recessed into each disk. The motif is a pair of birds on a tree branch with background leaves. Both disks have a hammered design. On the reverse of each disk is a ring that would be attached to a cape. The closure is a hook and ring. The disks have a braided edge. The finish is darkened gold tone metal. Size of each disk is 2 inches in diameter with an overall length of 4 1/2 inches. Condition is very good.
