This small hand painted porcelain brooch depicts a water lilly on a lake scene. Painting on porcelain was a popular past time in the 19th century. This scene was also quite popular. This piece is in very good condition with only some of the gilding around the edge has worn off which is also quite common in these pieces. There are no chips or cracks. The frame is gold tone. There is a slight bend in the pin stem but it functions fine. The closure is a C clasp. Dates to the early 1900's. Size is 1 inch in diameter. A very observant customer pointed out two small scratches above the lilly that are present.
