This is an unusual early Marvella brooch. It consists of large imitation pearls, irregular amethyst glass stones and crystal rhinestones. This is a heavier white metal piece from the 1940's. All stones and imitation pearls are prong set. The finish is gold tone with slight finish loss on the reverse. The large faux pearls have a rough finish with slight finish loss. Size is this unique brooch is 1 1/2 by 2 1/4 inches. Marvella was founded by Sol E Weinreich in 1906 in New York, New York. Bought by Trifari in 1982 and is now owed by the Monet Group, Inc. Many pieces featured simulated pearls and faceted beads.
