The sash pin was popular in the late Victorian through the Edwardian periods. They were a type of pin used to secure a sash at a lady's hip when the fad of wearing a sash over the shoulder and across the bosom became popular imitation Queen Elizabeth. Most have thick pins stems to allow for penetrating several layers of fabric. This pen is heavy gold tone metal with a floral design & center corner pieces are raised to hold an elongated deep Amber cut glass stone. There is some patina & darkening of the metal but overall the pin is in really nice condition and it does have the C-Clasp for closure. Measurements are 2 3/4 x 2 inches.
