This is a signed Forstner sterling silver brooch. It is designed as two large water lily pads on a single stalk. There are beads at each end of the stalks. The closure is a safety locking clasp soldered to the frame. There is a bend to the pin stem but functions fine. There is some patina and pitting to the finish of the brooch. This is not too obvious when worn. It is a unique piece. Size is 1 1/4 inches in width by 2 5/8 inches in length.
The Forstner jewelry company was founded in 1920 in Irvington, New Jersey. The company specialized in gold filled, sterling and pure gold accessories. The Forstner company later changed their name to the Forstner Jewelry Manufacturing Company. Operations ceased in 1980. This jewelry is collectible.
