This is a marked Czechoslovakia gold tone dress clip. It has a shield shape with multicolored large prong set open back unfoiled glass stones that alternate with textured gold tone flowers. These flowers and stones are attached to a gold tone wire frame. The center features a gold tone deep set flower with a center dog toothed set red glass stone. The clip is tight and secure. Size is 1 1/2 inches in width by 1 3/4 inches in length.
Dress clips were a purely ornamental type of pin that first gained prominence in the 1920's. They were often worn in pairs on the neckline or on straps of dresses. Popularity waned in the 1950's. They can now be used to decorate pockets, at the waistline, on hats or as hair pieces.
