This is a signed Pegasus Coro vintage brooch in an abstract design. There is an outer row of interesting oval amber iridescent cabochons with two inner cabochons accented with a few small crystal rhinestones. The frame finish is light gold tone with both textured and smooth curling stems. This piece is in good condition with minor surface wear to a few of the cabochons and cloudiness to the tiny rhinestones. The closure is a safety roll over clasp soldered to the frame with a straight pin stem. Size is 1 3/4 inches in width by 2 1/2 inches in length.
Coro jewelry was founded by Cohn and Rosenberger in 1901/1902 and incorporated in 1913 in New York City, NY. A factory in Providence,RI was established in 1911. The company was sold to Richtor, Intl. Corp. in 1970 and was bankrupt by 1979.
