This is a figural Delizza and Elster brooch. It is a book piece found in Juliana Jewelry by Ann Pittman on page 303. The design is that of a running deer. The frame finish is gold tone. The deer is accented with dark and light topaz and AB rhinestones. There are characteristics of D&E jewelry. There is a floating wire with AB rhinestones extending over the body of the deer and solder puddling by the tail. It has a safety roll over clasp soldered to the frame with a straight pin stem. This brooch is in very good to excellent condition. Size is 1 1/2 inches in width by 2 inches in length. All stones are prong set with some open back and unfoiled.
Delizza and Elster, Inc. began in 1947 with operations ending in 1990. They produced jewelry for many well known companies as well as under their own names. One line known as Juliana was only in production for a few years. D&E jewelry was unsigned and came with a paper hang tag.
