"King Cotton" 1938 softcover illustrated book by Charlotte Barske and illustrated by George Wright. It measures 9 1/2' x 13". It is the story of Cotton with a moving picture to build. There are 23 pages of color drawings, black white photos and and the story of cotton in the 1930's. The book includes poems, stories, beautiful drawings and a photo of Eli Whitney who invented the cotton gin. There are instructions on pages 18 - 22 to make a moving picture theater, with cutouts and descriptions. These pages are usually missing from other copies available. This book is intact and clear. There is one small fold on page 13 (pictured) and the name "Briggs" is written on the cover (the name of my 3rd grade teacher in 1947). The book is copyrighted 1938 by Artists and Writers Guild, Poughkeepsie N.Y. and lithographed in the U.S.A.
