Antique wicker sewing basket in very good condition finely crafted and filled with the following; 14 crocheted pattern samples, several hanks of crochet thread, vintage initial tags with the letter "M", two advertising paper tape measures, one primitive pin cushion, one red satin needle case with six old heavy needles, one crocheted piece with ribbon inserted, one instruction sheet w/photos in French from "DMC Thread Co.". The small crocheted pieces look as though they were made to teach a young person to crochet as they are diminutive in nature. The brass fittings, hinges and turn latch hasp, are finely made and in excellent condition. The red satin lining, nicely tufted has some worn areas with tears (pictured) but is overall beautiful. This basket dates from the 1920's to the 1930's. There is also a nice bone needle holder. The basket measures approx. 8" x 8" x 6".
