Certainly one of the more complex pieces of hand worked glass we've seen in recent years. This trumpet base is encased in two folds of delicate opaline glass, with an embellished base. The trumpet is worked so that it has faceted sides. Simply gorgeous. From a bygone era when workmanship was more important than profit. Measures 7 and 1/4 inches tall. Condition is perfect with no damage, but please note small imperfections due to hand workmanship, including a fleck of pale blue in the rim, mostly visible from the underside, outer portion. A rare art glass beauty, by Gundersen, 1940s to 1950s.
