Harkens back to the days when a cashier kept a receipt spike near the cash register. All of the receipts would be placed on the spike, and at the end of the day reconciled against the cash register customer count and amount tendered. Woe unto you if your count was off! This one is all black painted metal. The body is steel and the spike is steel, it's very strong and sturdy. Very handy for notes and reminders. And - if you have any kind of shop or restaurant, hanging orders or receipts as designed. The body measures about 6 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches wide. It's a good'un! Circa 1900-1940.
