A gorgeous Gorham sterling silver compact, which we have cleaned thoroughly. The interior opens up to reveal a now empty, clean compartment, which can be used for makeup or could be used a pill box. The compact is in excellent vintage condition, polished to a high shine, and features an engraving on the rear that reads: "39 like Jack Benny" and beneath the date 9-18-60 (a birth date probably). Our research points to this being manufactured in the 1950s. The pattern is called Dresden Rose. Note that some of these compacts do not feature the interior cover and ours does, making it much more useful! Specifications: Material: sterling silver and glass (mirror) Hallmarked: Yes. Gorham Sterling 325 (model number) Weight, with glass: 117g Condition: a few very tiny dents of the bottom and minor scratching. All other surfaces perfect. Mirror is excellent and usable.
