The beautiful group is most unusual. It features an 18th century boy and girl out in a natural setting; the girl is admiring two little birds. She has a cage nearby. Is she setting them free? We can't be sure. The boy is seated near a recumbent lamb; he's admiring a flower. This Saxony porcelain group is loaded with detail. Intricate and colorful clothing is outlined in gold paint, as is the base. Spaghetti grass placed here and there for added realism. Saxony Dresden mark. An excellent little work of art! Measures about 6 1/2 inches long, 4 and 1/2 inches deep, and 5 inches tall. Circa 1950.
