Produced from 1939 to 1982 and now retired, this engaging miniature has all the detail and quality of the full sized figures. There are a total of 25 of these characters to collect based on Charles Dicken's works (including Charles Dickens himself), and we have quite a few of them to offer. Captain Cuttle was described by Charles Dickens as "a gentleman in a wide suit of blue, with a hook instead of a hand attached to his right wrist; very bushy black eyebrows; and a thick stick in his left hand, covered all over (like his nose) with knobs..." This figure is in perfect condition and measures 4 inches tall. His expression is priceless! An essential part of the collection, equally great on his own peering from a cabinet. Designed by Leslie Harradine.
Most of these figures were first introduced in 1922, and were retired in the early 1980s. The oldest are marked Doulton England. They were made in several size and material variations over the years. Newer versions have various other backstamps.
