A very rare and beautiful large porcelain vase, made by Heinrich and Company in Bavaria, circa 1950s. The Viola pattern itself is rare and items in the pattern seldom come up for sale. I've seen this vase, a console bowl, and a taller narrower vase in recent years. It is beautifully made hand painted transferware, in a wonderful jasper-like blue, with vibrant viola flowers in purple and white. Heavy gold trim at the top. Measures 9 1/2 inches (24cm) tall with a very large bulbous body. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks, extremely minor wear to gold and finishes. Beautiful example!
