The most unusual large Toby mug, in majolica drip glaze, 19th century. This is a large mug and may well have seen service in a dark woody little tavern. I suspect English, but as Tobies became popular, many manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon, and so could be from anywhere in Europe. They were even exported from the Netherlands. This one is in perfect shape except some exceedingly minor crazing that you have to look for. Wonderful thick, runny glaze. He's mean; maybe after a pint or two in him he'll mellow out. But I suspect not. Measures over 8 inches (20.5cm) tall. Most unusual majolica item.
