The hapless and somnambulent Fat Boy of the Pickwick Papers appears here, sleepily as ever. He's pre-WWII, marked simply Royal Doulton England on the bottom, minus the fancy backstamp of the 1949 and later issues. Fine bone china. He's free of damage. He has one slightly worn yellow button. He also has a place on the back where the glaze did not cover the black coloring near the bottom, clearly shown in one of the photos. Not bad for being an approximately 75 year old bellhop. A nice old fellow for your collection. He measures just under 4 inches tall.

Item ID: PT57

Most of these figures were first introduced in 1922, and were retired in the early 1980s. The oldest are marked Doulton England. They were made in several size and material variations over the years. Newer versions have various other backstamps.
