Now here comes Alfred Jingle, a charlatan, street actor, and trickster of all sorts. He was crafted in 1949 to 1959 owing to his full backstamp that includes "bone china" in the wording. Yet another Pickwick Papers character, well done as always from Royal Doulton. Especially the older ones, which seem to have better color and expression. He measures 4 1/4 inches (10.8cm) tall, and is free of any issues.
Most of these figures were first introduced in 1922, and were retired in the early 1980s. The oldest are marked Doulton England. They were made in several size and material variations over the years. Newer versions have various other backstamps.
