This is one of those "must have" toys for construction collectors. This remarkable toy is a very exacting model of an actual Unit crane, with working boom, rigging, hook and clamshell. The cab rotates and the front wheels turn. Doepke Model Toys were in fact just that, models of actual equipment that was in use during the era. The first Unit crane toys began rolling off of the assembly line in 1946, and were produced until 1954. All of the rigging is brand new, replaced using the actual toy instructions (you will get a copy of those!) and excellent cable that looks like steel line (you'll get some extra cable as well). The toy has been thoroughly cleaned, and lubricated but not altered in any way. The excellent finish is all original. Everything is original except the crane hook, which is a replacement type used to repair this type of toy. The tires and decals are remarkable! This is one of the best original Unit cranes you can find today! This is a large, heavy toy. There is clean rock ballast in the interior ballast section which we have not removed, to protect the parts and finish. We've taken ample pictures of this remarkable, working toy! Body of crane is 12.5" long and a little over 8 inches tall. Boom is long 18 3/4" extended. Excellent!
