A very old invalid feeder, also used to feed small children or infants. Probably German, as this blue underglaze pattern usually comes from that area. This one is in perfect condition, other than the fact it is hand molded and hand painted so has the usual imperfections; no damage chips or cracks. You'll find more modern types of these made well into the early 20th century. A very neat and historical piece, perfect for a doctors office, or a cabinet piece to spark conversation. It's actually quite pretty and measures 6 inches long and 2 3/4 inches tall. Don't worry - it's been cleaned! Plague-free. C1850.
