Tradewinds Antiques
is now SALE PENDINGPhenomenal price! This entire small bowl has an elaborate design in Kutani colors that is completely done by hand. Natsu-jawan, or summer tea bowl type. Very thin, light porcelain, with a delicately painted under-glaze blue interior. Heavy over-glaze reds and golds adorn the exterior. This piece is old, but thankfully retains nearly all of its gold and iron red decoration, so it is in truly excellent condition, with no damage. Wear to very outer edge rim gold, as expected due to age. We believe this piece, based on style, would come from the very late Edo period, 19th century. Stand is included, to make a very nice cabinet display item! Measures 3 3/4 inches in diameter, and on stand is 2 1/4 inches tall (9.5 cm diameter, 5.7 cm tall).
