This is the classic design for a larger lustreware creamer. Bold blue on a shiny, coppery background. This style of Staffordshire region pottery was developed in the early 19th century, and became immensely popular as it was inexpensive, but allowed common folk to acquire kitchenware with a richer, more expensive look. By the 1820s it was being produced in large quantities by various potters. Condition: excellent over all. In the making, it is common to see smudges in the color, as they were hand painted and moved to the kilns by hand. This piece is no exception with two smudges you can see in the pictures. Notably, there was a small shallow flake on the underside of the spout, which we repaired. It's not noticeable in display or even when handling, but we mention it to be thorough. It's a nice example of the more plain, classic style.
