This is a nutcracker that I have personally never seen - and I thought I had seen all of the antique designs. It's marked made in England, and features a well detailed older couple embracing. They are wearing period clothing. The practical aspect of this nutcracker is undeniable; it has two different sized sections for different nuts and is well and solidly constructed - it works well! I'm not sure what inspired the design, the female almost looks like she's swooning or fainting! Wear and patina from age, hinge is solid as a rock. Measures 5 3/4" long. Neat!
