Here's a really pretty spooner in the French opalescent color family by Fenton. Basically, it's clear glass with white opalescent edges skillfully brought out by heating the second layer of glass in the gathering until it appears milky white, with a pearly hue. This was an old 1900s mold reused by Fenton and resurrected in the 1990s, based on the Fenton logo with a 9 added. Fenton has closed its doors to almost all glass manufacturing, except for lampwork beads. The museum and related store remains open with various offerings, no doubt at astronomical prices. This old fashioned spooner is in perfect shape with no chips or cracks, There is one small straw mark, or line in the glass from manufacturing. Measures 6 inches tall. Still useful for holding silverware in elegant table settings as intended!
