A monumental pair of large porcelain ginger jars. of Chinese origin, twentieth century, decorated with shishi and extensive calligraphy on the reverse. These are completely hand made, hand turned porcelain jars, with hand painted iron over-glaze decoration. The calligraphy is absolutely beautiful. As each is hand made, they are slightly different sizes and no two are alike, but this is an extremely well matched opposing pair. Please be sure to see all of the pictures. Condition: excellent with almost no wear. There are flaws from firing and other insignificant issues with such jars - there is a small fault on the top of one jar from manufacturing that we photographed to be complete but these vintage jars are truly a great example with no issues affecting appearance or value. Each measures about 13 inches tall and over 8 inches in diameter - they are pictured on a large mantel and as you can see look spectacular. They will be shipped in two separate boxes - shipping is fixed at fifty dollars total in the United States. Please inquire for shipping rate outside of the United States.
