A very old Chinese porcelain vase, dating to the late Jiaqing to Daoguang period of the Qing dynasty, in famille rose depicting various traditional objects. Circa 1800, and in fact could be older, as we are trying to be conservative. Probably a Jingdezhen area piece, from a non-imperial maker. Condition: the top rim has some very small, smooth chips in several places, worn down or smoothed down as a very old repair. The chilong handle on one side has been well repaired in one spot; see pictures for the repair and the other, unpaired side. None of these repairs are obvious on display, and are common for a vase as early as this one. Colors are fantastic! The base, included, is later but a very nice, well fitting vintage rosewood type. The vase measures, by itself minus stand, 8 and 1/2 inches (21.6cm) tall. An excellent and historic example for fine decorating.
