Here's a pretty little antique snuff bottle that is simple and elegant. I like to refer to these as "moon flask" type bottles. Basically it is two layers of carved glass, the red or top layer carved into round panels on the faces and oblong, bamboo-like panels on the sides. We have seen these come out of the Hong Kong antiques market from time to time, and perhaps the maker originated there. Typically these bottles have Shou longevity characters carved in tho the bottom, and this one is no exception. It's in excellent shape but does have slight wear to the glass surfaces due to age, but no chips or cracks. Measures 2 5/8 inches (6.4cm) tall to the top of the stopper. Circa 1880-1920 puts us in the ballpark for age.
