An excellent antique snuff bottle, carved from golden hair crystal quartz, measuring 2 1/4 inches inches or 5.7 cm tall to stopper top. Taotie mask handles, and delicately carved footrim. This bottle we date from 1750 to 1850, as the smaller size and tapering to the footrim indicates. Well hollowed, with jade and turquoise top. Condition is excellent, with a couple of tiny fleabites that were actually too small to photograph, and difficult to even see, likely always there from manufacture, due to the difficulties in working something as hard as quartz with the tools available then. There is one on the top rim, exceedingly small, and one on the footrim that is difficult to see, feel and find. I think you'll agree the condition is very fine.
