An unusual antique snuff bottle depicting boys concentrating over a game of xiangqi. On the reverse, it looks like a family outing! Nicely done polychrome enamels over a white glaze ground, on a porcelain shell. Apocryphal Qianlong period Qing mark, but this is a Qing period bottle from Guangxu to Xuantong periods, or 1875 to 1912, possibly even very early republic - but we believe earlier based on the size and quality. Top is a nice piece of celadon nephrite jade! Additional pictures available on request, please ask us for any additional details. Bottle itself measures 6.3 cm or just about 2.5 inches. A nice addition to any collection.
