This gorgeous stand alone bride's basket features a cranberry to white opalescent glass bowl with a clear crest and mold-blown details - it even has mica spangles! Both Webb and Stevens and Williams liked to employ thorn handles, and both embossed their glass with patterns. To me it looks the most like a Stevens and Williams piece, and likely is due to the handle style. Polished pontil mark on the bottom, and in absolutely perfect condition. Measures 8 and 1/2 inches tall to the top of the handle and over 8 inches in diameter at the widest point. A wonderful example of Victorian art glass, circa 1870 to 1890.
