Two well matched, delicate pink plates, infused with actual gold, with a spatter and spiral pattern. These were side plates used in stylish homes before the advent of pressed pattern glass. These are very early, 1870 or earlier. Fire polished pontils on each. They are free of chips and cracks but like all early glass, have bits of ash and bubbles, as expected. Historical and beautiful! Each measures about 6 and 1/2 inches in diameter (16.5cm), and they are almost exactly the same size; the picture makes one appear a bit smaller but they are well matched in all respects. Likely European.
