For your consideration is a 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty pewter jar form tea box or caddy. The box is decorated with grasshoppers, chrysanthemum and plum or prunus trees. The outer lid is also decorated as shown. The tea box stands 3.25 inches tall and retains the original inside lid. Hallmarked with impressed Zhuanshu script jian cun zi zao mark to base. Some light denting commensurate with use. Composition (analyzed by XRF) is 15% Lead; 84.72% Tin; with trace amounts of platinum, copper, and zinc.
