The Owen China Company of Minerva, Ohio (operational from 1902-1930) won a gold medal at the St. Louis Exposition in 1904. They began using the Gold Medal/St. Louis hallmark thereafter for about ten years (1915). This game bird set is from that period. The five plates measure 7 1/2" in diameter. All five plates are in very good to excellent shape with bright vivid colors, no utensil marks, no chips or cracks, and the gold garland borders are intact. There is also no visible crazing on these 100+ year old plates. The platter has some fading, staining, a few utensil marks, and a small chip on the underside edge (not visible when displayed or lying flat). The platter measures 8 1/2" x 11 5/8". This antique game bird set is in remarkable condition for its age. The problems with the platter have influenced the price. Please email me with any questions.
