This little guy is made by Chad Valley of England. These Atwell designs are early for Chad Valley and tend to be harder to find than CV's later dolls.
Chad Valley hired many designers in the 1920s including the well known illustrator Mabel Lucie Atwell. The Atwell designs were for a line called Bambina. These Atwell designed dolls have a very distinctive look with their side glancing, glass eyes and watermelon style mouths. The doll is wearing its original clothing and curly mohair wig. For more information on Chad Valley dolls check my book Cloth Dolls, Ancient To Modern, page 83.
Maker: Chad Valley
Marks: unknown, his shoes are too delicate to remove to look for the label commonly found on the bottom of the foot.
Condition: Doll's pressed felt head is in good condition, the velveteen body has moderate surface soiling overall. His green felt coat is faded as seen in my photos and his other clothes show minor wear from display/play.
