Looking at the lovely pale bisque on this doll it is easy to see why collectors of the 1930s – 80s referred to these as "Parians."
This one sports the hair-do known as the Alice, with a simple black band in her blonde hair.
She is on a cloth body with untinted bisque lower arms, and china lower legs.
A previous owner costumed her in an appropriate style made of silk, I especially like the details of the self-piping on the bodice and the pinked-edge self-ruffle at the neckline. Separate net undersleeves, and white cotton undergarments complete her costume.
Maker: unknown German maker
Condition: No ships, cracks, or repairs to the shoulderhead, cloth body has darkened with age but is sturdy, arms and legs are good
