The variety of Japanese made bisque dolls never ceases to amaze me. Probably made in the 1920s or 30s is this googly faced doll. She has side glancing eyes which are shallow intaglio.
Her molded hairstyle includes a molded hairband making her even more interesting. She is on what appears to be her original 5 pc. Baby body and is wearing a cotton diaper which also looks original to me.
Marks: Incised on back of head Nippon
Condition: head is good, no chips, cracks or repairs, it is a bit uneven in texture and color as is typical on Nippon dolls. Her body shows age-related wear but is stable (see photos for more info).
