This is a rather uncommon piece of late Victorian furniture. A carved Walnut lock side lingerie chest. Locksides (sometimes called Sidelocks) were, although uncommon by themselves, were generally executed as larger chests of drawers, more typically a dresser or chest. This piece is a lingerie chest with a beveled mirror (excellent condition) top with heavily carved crest and framework with pierced carved supports. Rather an overall organic motif with an Eastlake influence. Base has 4 deep drawers with a hinged locking panel (no key) along the right side. In excellent refinished condition and with a smooth and even finish. Approximately 79 in. high x 24 in. wide x 20.5 in. deep. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
