Antique cabinet card showing the artwork of French painter Adolphe- Henri Dubasty ( 1814-1883). This is a little boy imagining he is leading a cavalry charge on his wheeled toy horse. Wonderful rendition of a child at play: look at the intensity on that little face. The card measures 4" by almost 2 1/2". Very good condition. The card was printed in Germany, and someone translated its title in French and wrote it in faint pencil under the reproduction: Le Petit Cavalier. This is a rare card.
