Very rare, circa 1885, straw work trunk for mignonettes. Not many such items have survived the passage of time due to their inherent fragility. Keeping that in mind, this trunk is in very good original condition with no repair.
The straw work is in excellent shape. And so is the metal closure. The straps show some use and small loss, but on the whole , since they are only decorative, it is mainly a minor cosmetic issue.
The rare antique straw work trunk looks at home with mignonettes 5" to 10" tall. And, of course, It also can be displayed with Fashion dolls as a top dresser box.
