Pre-1850 French Doll Leather Antique Shoes

Great pair of French doll antique shoes pre-dating 1850, since the soles are sewn to the shoes' uppers and we know that about 1850 they were nailed or glued to the rest of the shoes. These shoes are very nice for their age. They still have their taping, their golden buckles adorned with tiny ribbons. And the black leather is still shiny.

The soles are about 2" long, 7/8 of an inch wide. The opening on top is a comfortable 1" wide. These shoes have lost their flexibility along the years and are quite rigid.

No cleaning, no enhancement of any kind.

I was asked a question: Is there any gap in the sewing of the soles to the uppers? No, the sewing is continuous in both shoes. Although it looks like it was mended here and there. By one hand? More than one? Who knows. This pair of shoes is at least 175 years old....
