This sleek Colclough teacup and saucer set is a vintage gem from England dating to the 1930s or 1940s. This elegant teacup features a delicate light green upper section that gracefully transitions to a pristine white base. The two colors are beautifully separated by an intricate gold filigree pattern, adding a touch of sophistication and charm. The cup’s design exudes a timeless elegance, making it a stunning addition to any tea service. A perfect addition to any collection, this set is ideal for tea enthusiasts and would make a thoughtful gift for a special occasion or loved one.

Colclough China Ltd, established in 1937 in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England, originated from the merger of H. J. Colclough, Thomas Morris, and the Osborne China Company. Known for mass-producing contemporary bone china tea sets, Colclough advertised itself as "Britain's largest manufacturer of Bone China Teaware." In 1942, J. E. Leak joined the company as a director and later became the managing director in 1944. That same year, Colclough was acquired by Booths Ltd, a member of the Pearson Group, leading to a cooperative operation between the two firms. In 1948, Colclough China Ltd formally amalgamated with Booths Ltd to become Booths & Colclough Ltd, and in 1954, the company merged with Ridgway & Adderley Ltd, subsequently rebranding as Ridgway, Adderley, Booths & Colcloughs Ltd on January 1, 1955.

This set is in excellent vintage condition. We did not observe any chips, cracks, or crazing on this set. The cup “pings” when tapped. There is some fading to the gold gilt consistent with age. Please see the photos for further details on item condition. The teacup measures 4.25″ (L) x 3.25″ (W) x 2.75″ (H), while the saucer measures 5.5″ (L) x 5.5″ (W) x 1″ (H).
