Antique carved wood shoe snuff box. This nicely carved snuff box is deeply carved with a small heel. There is a flower or clover carved on the top of the shoe and a heart on the bottom of the shoe.
The use of snuff was most popular from the late 1700 to the mid 1850’s when it went slowly out of fashion. Snuff was dried tobacco leaves, which were inhaled.
