Antique pair of Victorian brides bracelets in bright shiny rolled gold plate. Each bracelet has a central blue glass stone which rests within a central raised ornamental medallion and features two small red glass stones on either side. The closure of the bracelets is slide buckle type with three holes and a guard. The tip of both bracelet closures are marked J.G. on the outside. These matched Victorian brides bracelets are getting harder to find.
Date: Victorian Era circa 1890
Marks: J.G. on tip of buckle
Size: Each Bracelet measures just under 5/8 inches in width. The central blue glass stones are approximately 3/8 inches by 2/8 inches. The interior measurement is 7 inches in total so would fit a 6 - 6 3/4 inch wrist.
Weight: 24.35 grams for both bracelets
Condition: Bracelets retain much of their rolled gold plate with more wear of finish at buckle. They have some minor scratching consistent with age and use. Both bracelets appear to have been professionally sized at some point with a sizing mark on inside of both bracelets. This can best be seen in the last photo. There is some curving at sizing mark and is more noticeable on one bracelet than the other. Because of the sizing, the bracelets are not completely round. Very pretty and shiny under normal inspection and slight imperfections to shape are not noticeable when worn. Please see pictures.
These matched Victorian Brides bracelets are fun to wear and will garner a lot of attention. I have also used Victorian bracelets as napkin rings for a romantic dinner party.
